I'm going to need y'all to preemptively chill out because the actor's strike is going to mean a lot of things including shows and movies we've been anticipating being pushed way back, and absolutely minimal press tours for the next however long this lasts.

The effects of the writer's strike are months down the road which made it a whole lot easier to support because as third parties we weren't really being affected (yet), the effect of the actor's strike is going to be immediate and we're going to get a lot more propaganda of "these people are overpaid to begin with."

Remember our desire for content does not supersede these people's rights to live.

Support unions, support the strikes.

Someday I’m gonna need to actually write about this conservative tactic of demanding we basically turn off the part of our brain that interprets words and finds meaning when we talk to them. If they don’t specifically say some exact words, well you can’t respond to those words. You can’t assume JK Rowling is saying she’s a victim of a witch hunt by trans people because she never said those exact words in that exact order.

It’s a fascinating form of intellectual cowardice, where they want to essentially say something without ever being held responsible for saying that thing.

when we wonder how political shows wíll get, folks tend to think along the lines of, like, are they gonna tackle freedom of the press? defamation laws? equal marriage? corruption? gender equality? and then here's only friends ep 1, and Cheuam comes in with this absolutely sick burn--

yeah, air pollution, it was really bad this year, people sued the then-PM over it.

covid? We know. We know. (killed ~35000 people in Thailand directly according to WHO stats and ruined millions of lives because of the economic dip due to the tourism slump, and fuck knows how many more severely impaired by long covid or other covid-related issues)
